My 7-Day Greek Isles tour began in Athens, Greece. I recommend purchasing the Priority Access unless you desire to spend several hours in que on embarkment. Another tip reserve an early boarding time if possible. For me, this was most beneficial as we arrived in Athens a day before the cruise in case our flight was delayed. Check out of most hotels is 11am. So we chose the Noon check in time to board the ship. This way we left hotel en route straight to port. The drive was about a half hour to Piraeus. Even with our Priority Access, it took a bit over a hour going through security, customs, and boarding the ship. You are allowed to bring abroad the same items as allowed for carryon on a flight. Once abroad, you can go straight to your room and refresh before hitting the pool, buffet, arranging shore excursions, and etc. For me, the Internet Cafe was my first stop. I chose the Premium Wi-Fi to Live Stream my show. There were some hiccups with this procedure. Also I had purchased the International Plan with my mobile carrier. Using your phone without a plan will become expensive quickly.

My suggestion is to prepay all items before the cruise. This way you know how much has been spent so you don’t overspend while onboard. Example, I purchased the beverage option so that I could enjoy a Fountain Drink daily. The beverage option was $83 for the week. I know this sound high. So is this a deal or not? You can purchase a Fountain Drink on the ship at the Bar or Restaurant for 3.5 Euros. So multiply how many cokes you will drink in a day x 7. Is this number higher or lower than $83.

Luckily I received an upgrade to a balcony room. Prior my stateroom was an inside cabin due to booking on short notice. My balcony cabin was a bit small for me and all my luggage. However, a family of four can sleep in it. The balcony comes with two chairs and small table. More tips and notes on my cruise will be shared each day. Stay tuned and ask questions.
